Oleic acid is a monounsaturated fatty acid naturally found in many animal and vegetable fats and oils.
In 786-O cells, treatment with oleic acid upregulated ILK. In breast cancer, oleic acid activates G protein-coupled receptors and phosphorylates ERK1/2, inducing cancer cell proliferation[1].
Oleic acid inhibits Na/K-ATPase activity in the lungs and lungs during injury. Oleic acid (10 μM) induces pulmonary edema, inflammation and cell influx, liposome formation, and the production of leukotriene B4 (LTB4) and PGE2[2].
